My Nearest Competitors Are In School This Morning - Victory Is Mine!

Greg warms up for the big race.

Ready To Go!

Julie Anne prepares to start. It is her Birthday and she wants a trophy today! The stark mountain in the background is called the Wilder Kaiser. On New Year's Eve, some people from the village climb the mountain to shoot off fireworks at midnight.

But For The Bunny Ears, Derrick Would Have Joined Us On The Podium!

Here are the happy racers - no crashes! Left to Right: Sylvia, Ian, JA, Marian, Traudl, Celeste, Derrick, Greg, Edi. Although it was sunny in the morning, a severe beer front rolled in shortly after this picture was taken.

A Perfect Place For Lunch

After the race, we headed to St. Johann with Ian, Celeste, Sylvia, and Derrick for some more skiing. This is a picture of the Stanglalm. Even if we'd had a wide-angle lens it would be hard to see how pretty everything was that day.

Mountain Views With the Tyrolian Flag In The Foreground

Here is a picture from where we ate lunch on the Stanglalm balcony. The little specks on the left side of the picture are a few of the hot air balloons that were out.

FRIDAY AWARDS CEREMONY

Snowboarders Rule! From The Podium, Everybody Watches The Ceremonial Highland Victory Dance!

The left picture is the snowboard awards. Greg is sharing 1st because it was past his classmates' bedtime so he went up for awards with the other class.

The right picture is the skier's awards ceremony. Incidentally, nobody could explain why skiers get trophies and the snowboarders get medals!
